Open the source package
Select Open 3MF or drop a .3mf file onto the preview. The 3MF to STL converter checks the ZIP package and follows its root model relationship. Keep the source package for its materials and printer setup.
Convert 3MF to STL locally when you need a triangle mesh for an application that cannot open your manufacturing package. Inspect the combined geometry, dimensions and triangle count before downloading. Model relationships, components and placement transforms are applied.
Recover geometry from a supported slicer 3MF project when an older inspection program accepts only STL. A 3MF to STL conversion evaluates component placement and build items, giving you a combined surface to inspect outside the original slicer.
Use this 3MF to STL converter online for geometry transfer, retaining the project separately for its colors and print settings. Unsupported required extensions need a fresh mesh export. There is no monthly quota; file limits apply.

Inspect the preview from several angles and read Width X, Depth Y and Height Z in millimeters. Compare the model-part, object-resource, build-item and mesh-instance counts with your expectations. A repeated component contributes triangles for each occurrence, so the final triangle count can exceed the number stored in one source mesh.
Select Download STL to save one binary file containing the assembled build geometry. Reopen the output in a viewer or slicer and compare its size with the displayed dimensions. The 3MF to STL export preserves placement as coordinates; importing software may still recenter the result or apply its own unit convention.
A package can contain several mesh resources and component objects that reference those resources. The reader expands nested components and applies their transforms together with each build item's transform. Supported production-extension paths can reference objects in other model parts within the same archive; external network references are rejected.
Source units may be micron, millimeter, centimeter, inch, foot or meter. The 3MF to STL workflow normalizes supported coordinates and translations to millimeters before showing measurements. This matters because one inch must become 25.4 millimeters, rather than silently becoming a one-millimeter feature.
All build items are combined into one output surface. Combining triangles does not weld touching objects or perform a boolean union, and overlapping shells remain overlapping.
3MF is a structured ZIP package with declared units, object relationships and potential material information. STL is a list of triangles without a standard physical-unit field. A 3MF to STL conversion retains the evaluated surface shape, but STL cannot keep colors, materials or print settings. Archive the original when those details matter.
Binary STL uses 32-bit coordinates. Small rounding differences are possible, especially for very large offsets or tiny features. Check critical dimensions after import; conversion does not improve resolution or repair geometry.
This 3MF to STL tool does not export individual objects, preserve project metadata, slice models or certify printability. Beam lattices and unknown required extensions produce errors instead of incomplete success. Inputs are limited to 25 MiB and an expanded build of 400,000 triangles. Expanded archives are capped at 128 MiB total and 64 MiB per part; malformed, empty or unsupported packages need a fresh triangle-mesh export from their source application.
No. The output is geometry only. Colors, material assignments and print settings cannot be stored in this binary STL download, so retain the original package.
Supported declared units are converted to millimeters, including component translations. Check the displayed bounds before exporting and confirm the millimeter interpretation in your destination software.
Every build item is expanded into the combined mesh. There is no per-object export selector, and separate shells are not automatically fused into a watertight body.
No. Invalid ZIP data, missing model parts and malformed XML cause visible errors. Re-export an ordinary unencrypted package from the application that created it.
No. Surface gaps, intersections and other defects may survive unchanged. Inspect the result and use suitable mesh repair software when the source requires structural changes.
No. Your browser reads the file, prepares the preview and creates the download locally. Export before leaving because the page does not save a project between sessions.
